Win a rook endgame where your pawn is on the 7th rank and your king is in front of it.
Plan step 1
Cut off the defending king if possible.
Plan step 2
Put the rook on the 4th rank to build a bridge.
Plan step 3
Walk the king out of checks and hide behind the rook.
Conditions to check
The bridge stops side checks. The attacking king must escape the checking rook. Do not let the defending king return in front of the pawn.
Common mistakes
Moving the king out before preparing the bridge. Checking randomly instead of building the setup. Putting the rook passively behind the pawn too early.
